The Art Of Teaching Private yoga is an experiential and didactic teacher training for yoga teachers looking to master the art of teaching private yoga.

As a yoga teacher have you found yourself lost running from class to class all over town? You've spent the time, money, and energy on yoga teacher training and teaching general yoga classes but found yourself wanting more for yourself and your students. Perhaps running a brick and mortar business isn't right for you but your desire to build a fruitful career helping people on your own terms and your students is burning bright. By teaching private yoga classes, you can create customized plans for individuals looking to get more out of the practice and at the same time building your own business. This sounds great right but how do you get started, where are the clients, and how do you create plans?

The course led by Kate Connell gets to the heart of working individually with yoga practitioners with a focus on structuring sessions, sequencing to the individual, and delivering sessions based on your expertise and pairs the teaching know-how with must-know business concepts including how to find clients that you want to work with, how to be a professional private yoga teacher, and how to position yourself in a crowded yoga teacher market for long-term success.

The Art Of Teaching Private Yoga covers the following six modules:

1. Get To Know Your Clients + Your Value

Knowing your value and who those you’d like to work with most (your perfect-fit private partner!) makes all the different when it comes to delivering potent 1×1 sessions and running an abundant private teaching practice. Together we will carve out your niche, introduce you to your perfect-fit private partner, and create packages that express the value of working with you long-term. We will circle back to the age old yogi question:

How much do I charge? and infuse the whole money makin’ thing with some confidence + enthusiasm.

Our focus:

(1) Discovering your value as a private yoga teacher

(2) Uncovering your perfect private clients

(3) Nailing down your niche and value to that group of yogis

(4) Confidence to create packages and price points that excite you

2. Anatomy Of A Private Yoga Session

I know the private yoga teacher you desire to be — calm yet excited, professional but accessible, and able to deliver private yoga lessons that leave your students feeling inspired and changed. All of that starts with setting the tone. After we discuss tone + objectives, we will navigate the body of your signature private yoga session (infused with a lot of you!) and talk about the exciting first session and how to turn first time flyers into forever fans.

What we focus on:

(1) Setting the tone and objectives in your sessions

(2) The components of a first session

(3) Added your unique-ness to each session through deepenings and bonuses

(4) The steps you take before, during, and after

3. Sequencing To The Private Yogi

You are a sequencing star, but how much time have you spend considering the important of sequencing to the individual? Our focus will be highlighting your expertise as a yoga teacher and fusing that with the needs of the yogi in front of you. In addition to uncovering your sequencing style we will dive into the in-take and assessment phases of the first session and outline your process step by step.

Our focuses:

(1) The difference between an in-take and an assessment

(2) Defining your signature sequencing style

(3) Creating your own client in-takes and assessments

(4) Taking your sequencing knowledge and tailor it to the individual

4. Being A Professional Private Yoga Teacher

Being a professional private yoga teacher doesn’t mean you wear a collared shirt. In fact, a lot of the professionalism in our industry is chalked up to how you make your clients feel. For us woo-woo folk, we should have this part nailed down! We will outline your homework process, your paperwork situation, and practice how you invite clients to work with you (until it feels freakin’ fantastic). Plus, we will edit your client experience so that it feels in line with how you want your clients to feel. Seen? Understood? Inspired?

Taken care of? Am I close?

What we’ll spend time on:

(1) Outlining your approach to homework

(2) Streamlining how you invite clients to work with you

(3) Refining the paperwork documents you use in your business and teaching

(4) The steps you take during and after sessions that enhance your clients experience

5. Finding Private Clients You Love

You’ve been flipping over yoga mats and bolsters looking for private clients for far too long. Here’s a truth: your perfect-fit clients are just as busy looking for you! Filling your client docket doesn’t have to be the most frustrating part of teaching private yoga. You can learn to love the process + I’m going to show you how.

What we will cover:

(1) How to find clients via your current teaching opportunities

(2) The ways to encourage word of mouth and referrals

(3) The role collaboration and partnership has on filling your client docket (and bank

account)

(4) Filling your docket with perfect-fit clients by providing insane value

6. Self-care And Boundaries As A Private Yoga Teacher

Who you are bleeds into how you teach. And if you are runnin’ low on inspiration, overwhelmed, and burned out you aren’t the only one who notices. Aside from addressing the pit-falls of being a private yoga teacher (and proactively solving them) we will discuss the keys to sustainability in your teaching practice. A candid talk on boundaries and suggestions to nip some of the common leaks of energy/effort/time/money will be the cherry on the private cake.

Our focus:

(1) Uncovering how you’d like to spend your week

(2) The secrets to longevity in your private yoga teaching practice

(3) Refining boundaries so you can focus on what’s important to you as a private

yoga teacher

(4) The intersection of long-term clients and sustainability in your teaching

About the Instructor

Kate is the private yoga teacher’s best friend. She’s passionate about bridging together individualized yoga teaching technique with the business practices essential to building a sustainable private teaching practice. As a successful (on her own terms) private yoga teacher with a sustainable private yoga teaching practice, she aims to empower yoga teachers so they have confidence to teach powerful one-on-one sessions and clarity to build a business on serving their dream client. When she’s not hanging out the most inspirational private yoga teachers on the interwebs, she’s writing her forthcoming book The Art Of Teaching Private Yoga, sniffing essential oils, and sitting in the travel section of Barnes & Noble plotting her next adventure.

Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable, she’s energetic and magnetic—I’ve never yawned once while listening to her lecture. Second of all, this woman knows how to teach you to get results. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Kate and everything that she puts out into the private yoga teaching world.

Working with Kate has filled what I felt like was a significant hole in my career. It’s great to have guidance from a more experienced teacher who can help me focus on what is relevant, find new ways to grow professionally and implement tangible changes in my business.

I now understand the VALUE of MY work. I get it so now I can see why people would pay more to work with me one on one versus a group class or even workshop. I have MUCH more clarity in what I want to offer people and in what way I want to offer it. I now know WHO I most want to work with and I understand VALUE a whole lot better and now know that has been the missing piece for me (and most people). I finally stopped being afraid of BOOST marketing – it works! Kate has a great sense of humor and
